Item description

This position is part of the Technical Services Team, reporting to the Projects Controls Officer.
Key purpose is to provide assistance to the Projects Controls Officer and Costing Manager with understanding, quantifying, budgeting, and managing the costs of the project work.

Measurements of works as per the Standard System of Measurement.
Preparation of Cost Estimates.
Prepare and price bills of quantities.
Prepare tender documents.
Perform site measurements as and when required.
Monitoring & reporting on project budgetary allowances.
Preparation of Monthly valuation claims.
Preparation of Final accounts and Contract Close Outs.
Identify & pricing of variation orders / compensation events.
Assisting in Claims analysis.
Assisting in Cost Administration.
Administration of contract documents and Bills of Quantities.
Preparing month end valuations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Desired Qualification:

BTech QS or BSc (Hons) QS, or BSc/BTech in Quantity Surveying/Construction
Management.

Essential Experience:

Minimum 5 years’ experience on building / Construction projects or in the
Petro-Chemical Industry.
MS Office and Projects literate, Strong Excel, and numerical skills.
Experience in NEC and FIDIC suite of contracts.
BuildSmart, Candy or WinQS experience would be beneficial.
Driver's license and own vehicle.
Must be able to perform under pressure.
Must be able to work unsupervised.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged candidates.

All candidates will need to be able to pass the Mining Health and Safety Medical Assessment Evaluations.
